Baraga Township

Upper Peninsula of Michigan

Welcome

Baraga Township is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, on the coast of Lake Superior. The character of Baraga Township is reflected in its natural features - the Keweenaw Bay, rolling hillsides, farmlands, lakes, streams, woodlands, and open spaces help define those traits that draw people to the area. In the past, major alteration and destruction of these natural features produced far-reaching impacts, some of which can still be seen today. The Township's residents are aware of the quality of their environment and support strong policies in favor of protecting the Township's natural features.

Voters

Please be aware that this is the first year most Townships will not be sending absentee voter applications prior to elections. If you applied to be on the new “Permanent Ballot List” in 2024, you will be mailed absentee ballots for each election for which you are eligible without any more steps. If you are currently on this list, please be sure to update your temporary mailing address with your local clerk if you will be away for any upcoming elections.

ALL registered voters may apply for absentee ballots for each eligible election, or request to be put on the “Permanent Ballot List” to automatically receive ballots for all eligible future elections. You can do this online at https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/AVApplication/Index↗ or by requesting an application from your local clerk.
